Optional, the legumes in the blend are designed to fix nitrogen. If you do want to apply, keep under 40lbs/ac
Yes. All species come mixed in 2000lb totes. Inoculant must be added when filling the drill
We recommend sowing this blend at ¾ to 1”. Small seeds such as turnip and radish, will have a hard time emerging if placed to deep.
If weed pressure is an issue or you have a history of problem weeds on the field you selected, we recommend a pre-burn herbicide application. Do not plant on fields with kochia problems. For best weed control, spray crop with glyphosate 2-3 days after seeding. (pre-emergence)
No. The diversity in the blend also limits herbicide option in-crop. Best is to ensure proper pre seeding weed control.
Of course! For producers looking to simply add nitrogen rich cover to their soil before the snow flies, we recommend a reduced seeding rate of 30-40lbs an acre.
